Attorneys
JOHN F. LAURO grew up in New York and later graduated from Georgetown
University in 1979, magna cum laude. While a college student, Mr. Lauro was
elected to a position as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in the District
of Columbia. As an elected official, he focused most of his attention on the
development of the Georgetown waterfront and other constituent issues. He then
attended Georgetown University Law Center and graduated in 1982, magna cum
laude. While a law student, Mr. Lauro was an editor of the Georgetown University
Law Journal.
HUGH D. E. HIGGINS is an Associate with the Lauro Law Firm. Mr. Higgins was born and raised in Fort Myers, Florida. He attended the University of Florida in Gainesville and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Art History. Mr. Higgins graduated from Stetson University College of Law in 2007, cum laude. Prior to joining the Lauro Law Firm in 2009, Mr. Higgins served a two-year term as a law clerk for the Honorable William J. Zloch, United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Division. His law practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, commercial litigation, and trial work.
SARA L. ALPERT
is an Associate with the Lauro Law Firm. Sara L. Alpert grew up in
Tampa, Florida and attended The Johns Hopkins University, graduating in
2003 with a B.A. in Political Science. Ms. Alpert graduated from University of Maryland School of Law where she served as an Articles Editor for the Law Journal of Race, Religion, Gender, & Class.
Ms. Alpert also completed a mini-MBA course for in-house counsel at the
Boston University School of Management.
